U.K. Psion in Link-Up

LONDON -- British handheld computer maker Psion Plc said Tuesday it was linking up with major partners to develop an open universal standard for synchronizing data across different computer platforms.

Founding partners of the SyncML initiative include IBM, Nokia, Lotus, Motorola, and Palm Inc.

The partnership aims to develop a way for computer users on the move easily to swap data between operating systems and devices.
