Tyumen Output Up

Moscow -- Tyumenneftegaz, a Tyumen Oil Co. subsidiary, has increased its January production by almost a third, Prime-Tass reported Monday.

Production rose to 173,466 metric tons of crude oil from 125,190 tons in January last year. The yearly output also grew from 1.53 million tons in 1998 to 1.854 million in 1999, the agency said, quoting the head of Tyumenneftegaz's production department, Ferdinand Nazmutdinov. The firm plans to boost output to over 2 million tons in 2000.
