Russia Gets Mixed Win

LILLEHAMMER, Norway -- Veteran Alexei Prokurorov skied a strong last leg Sunday, leading Russia to a 25.3-second victory in a mixed World Cup relay.

Prokurorov, an Olympic champion for the Soviet Union in the 1988 Calgary Olympics, crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 19 minutes, 2.2 seconds.

Another Russian team was second and Finland, with 42-year-old Harri Kirvesniemi skiing one leg on Lillehammer's Olympic trails, was third, 1.12 behind.

Olga Danilova, Vitaly Denisov and Larissa Lazutina skied the other laps for the winners. The women skied 5 kilometers, the men 10 kilometers, using the classical and freestyle disciplines.
