Kasyanov in Minsk

MINSK, Belarus -- First Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov said Wednesday he was seeking ways to speed up integration with neighboring Belarus.

"Different opinions among members of the government and the people about forming a union state have disappeared, despite hitches and doubts during preparation of the union agreement," Kasyanov said during a visit to the Belarussian capital, Minsk.

Russian news agencies quoted Kasyanov as saying implementation should go faster than the union agreement provided for and mentioned customs and tax as two specific areas where integration work should be speeded up.
