Ivanov to Pyongyang

MOSCOW -- Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov left for Pyongyang on Tuesday on Russia's first high-level visit to North Korea in a decade - a crucial part of Moscow's diplomatic balancing act as it reassesses regional relations.

After two days in Pyongyang, during which the sides will sign a treaty replacing a Soviet-era aid pact, Ivanov will travel to Tokyo for talks likely to cover a territorial dispute and to Vietnam, where the focus will be on economic relations.
