Big Rolls-Royce Orders

SINGAPORE -- Rolls-Royce on Tuesday announced it had obtained more than $500 million worth of new orders to supply aircraft engines and parts to Brazilian plane maker Embraer, the U.S. Navy and to Taiwan and France.

Rolls-Royce, in a news conference at the Asian Aerospace 2000 air show in Singapore, said it would supply the engines worth $490 million for 100 Embraer jets being purchased by U.S. regional carrier Continental Express.

Rolls-Royce also announced new contracts worth $150 million to provide engines and parts to the U.S. Navy and the governments of France and Taiwan.
