Russky Alyuminy To Cut Metal Supply

Russky Alyuminy is to cut metal supplies to international trade houses to 35,000 tonnes a month from 120,000 tonnes starting from 2001, Alexander Bulygin, Russky's first deputy chief executive, said Wednesday.

Bulygin also said Russky, Russia's biggest aluminium group, would increase the amount of primary aluminium it supplies to Southeast Asia under term contracts to 100,000 tonnes a month from 2001, against current levels around 70,000 tonnes.

"We have signed all the contracts and total supplies to China, Korea and Japan will take about 60 percent of our export capacities," Bulygin said at a news conference.

He added that Japan would take around 35,000 tonnes a month of the total figure of 100,000.
