The emergency meeting the 'Volzhskoye parokhodstvo" shipbuilding company reelected the board of directors ahead of the schedule.

The meeting took place in Balakhna on September 30.
The changes in the board were caused by the fact, that the owner emerged at "Volga-fleet". The control stock of the company, previously owned by "Narodniy fund" (Moscow) and "Active", was passed over to some unknown company "J.T.N. Global Prperty", which has been registered in the Cyprus off-shore zone, according to some information.
The representative of the main stockholders, headed by Igor Izmetiev, received the majority of places in the board of directors.
The state still owns 25% shares of the ship-building company.

VOLGOGRAD REGION

A possibility to establish an industrial association is being discussed by the Volgograd regional administration.

The recent visit of Nikolay Maksiuta, head of the Volgograd regional administration, to the technical carbon factory and the factory for steel, wire and cable production was aimed at discussing establishment of the industrial association, which will encompass several large-scale enterprises of the region.
Apart from the two factories mentioned above, the oil refinery, "Volzhskiy orgsynthez", "Voltair" and other factories, having common technological ties and mutual interests, are expected to join the association. Currently the governor of the Volgograd region in conducting consultation with the top management of the enterprises to agree the mechanism of establishing the association.

In the first half of 2000 the number of unprofitable enterprises reduced by 11.

The information was announced by Alexander Grashin, head of the municipal property department.
There are 203 municipal enterprises registered in Volgograd; among them 46 enterprises report no profit. As a rule, the majority of unprofitable enterprises are cinemas, and, surprisingly, trade companies.
Grashin said that special measures would be undertaken in regards of the unprofitable enterprises. It is possible that 20 - 30 thereof will be privatized.

The regular meeting of the board of directors took place at Airport "Tolmachevo."

At the journalists' briefing Valeriy Bashkov, deputy head of the regional administration and chairman of the board of Airport "Tolmachevo" said that the concept for developing the airport, making it into the multi-modal transport junction, was the main issue of the directors' meeting.
Besides, the participants of the recent meeting discussed performance of Alexander Mozherin, general director of the airport, as his terms of office have come to an end. The board found his activities satisfactory and decided to leave him for another term.
The airport has been the joint stock company for over 5 years. 51% of shares are in federal property, while the rest are distributed among commercial enterprises and private persons.
The West-Siberian inter-regional territory department of civil aviation of the Russian Ministry of Transport, the Novosibirsk regional administration and other legal entities and private persons, holding the airport's shares, are represented in the board of directors.
Answering the journalists' question on the fate of airport "Tolmachevo" in connection with the government's decree on sales of state-owned stock, V.Bashkov said, that the 51% state-owned shares of the airport are not likely to be sold off.

The new South Korean garment factory "Parse" with the 100% foreign capital was established in Partizansk, Primorskiy krai.

According to the local administration, the above company is the second joint venture, registered in the town. The first joint venture -"Koros" was established two years ago. The full scope of the company's knitted products is exported.
"Parse" rents the premises of the former defense factory "Amur". Recently the company employs new stuff. It reports 900 vacancies, to be mainly filled with women. The first products will be launched in Novemner.

"Vostok-media" (Vladivostok) 03.10.00

A factory for disposal of wastes from the thermal power station No.2 to be constructed in Vladivostok.

The project for ash disposal won the $46 thousand grant of the "EcoLinsk" company (USA). The grant is able to help implementing a half of the project. The total scope of investments required to fully implementing the project, amounts to RUR 96 million, calculated in prices valid in 1999.
The project was elaborated by the experts from the Vladivostok thermal power station No.2 together with the scientists from the Far Eastern Scientific Research Institute. The project stipulates construction of the ash disposal factory, which will process the ash matter, accumulated as a result of the station's operation. Provided that all the station's workshops operate constantly, the disposal factory will process up to 110 thousand tons of ash per year.
According to Andrey Taskin, head of the ash disposal department of the power station and the participant of the project, the payback period of the factory may make only 5-6 years. Further on the factory is expected to bring net profit.
