What happens when you put three men and three women together in a Russian dacha? Catch Wednesday's performance of playwright Olga Mukhina's insightful "Tanya-Tanya" and find out. The play, which has wowed Moscow critics this season with its penetrating examination of the nature of human passion and disappointment, begins at 7 p.m. at the Fomenko Studio, located at 30/32 Kutuzovsky Prospekt. Divided Allegiances


Time is running out to buy tickets for "Pskovityanka," or "The Maid of Pskov," the first of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's 15 operas. "The Maid," at the Bolshoi this Thursday as well as Feb. 10 and 15, tells the story of the illegitimate daughter of Ivan the Terrible, who finds herself caught up in the battle for power between her father and her lover, the head of the rebel forces determined to oust the tsar. Meanwhile, if you're looking for a new twist on the classics, check out the Bolshoi on Wednesday, when St. Petersburg maverick choreographer Boris Eifman stages "Red Giselle," his ballet based on the tragic life of ballerina Olga Spessivtseva. The piece, performed by the St. Petersburg Ballet, will begin at the Bolshoi at 7 p.m.
