Flu Spreads to Russia

MOSCOW -- The Sydney flu epidemic sweeping Western Europe has reached Russia claiming victims from the Polish to the Chinese borders, Russian news agencies said Tuesday.

Interfax said 70 of Russia's 89 regions were hit although Moscow had so far been spared. It quoted medical experts as saying many Russians had developed immunity to the strain after previous outbreaks.

Britain is facing its worst flu epidemic in a decade and France could have up to 5 million people suffering from the Sydney strain, also known as Australian flu.
