Few Women Hit Top

LONDON -- Half of Europe's leading businesses have no women in their most senior management positions, a survey showed Monday.

Germany and Italy ranked among the worst countries for equality at the top with 60 percent of Italian and 59 percent of German business leaders admitting that none of the 10 most senior positions in their companies are held by women.

Britain rated slightly better with 44 percent of leading businesses having no women in the top 10 posts.

"There remains a huge disparity between the number of men and women in Europe's top jobs," said Geoff Light of UPS European Business Monitor.
