Eesti Gaas Sees Profit

TALLINN, Estonia -- Estonian natural gas distributor Eesti Gaas said Tuesday that it expected company's 2000 profit to be around 30 million kroons ($490,000) on turnover of 836 million kroons.

Eesti Gaas made a profit of 20 million kroons in 1999 on turnover of 762.6 million kroons, said Vaike Pallo, the company's financial director.

In 1998, the company made a loss of 24.6 million kroons.

Eesti Gaas is owned by Russian gas giant Gazprom with 30.64 percent, German Ruhrgas AG with 32.04 percent, Finnish Fortum with 10.01 percent and 27.31 percent by smaller shareholders.
