Pimenov in Prague

MOSCOW -- Dmitry Pimenov, the leader of the Union of Revolutionary Writers, has fled to Prague, Czech Republic. Leaflets supposedly printed by his group were found at the site of the Manezh shopping center bombing last week.

Pimenov, 29, fled Russia after an interrogation at the Federal Security Service's headquarters early last Saturday morning, he said in a call Friday from a pay phone. The writer, branded "hamburger hater" for the rhetoric in the flyer, said he and his wife, artist Maria Demskaya, flew to Kiev, traveled later to Warsaw and then Prague.

"We took everything we could carry and ran to the airport. And technically I am not a suspect, so I am not doing anything illegal," Pimenov said. "But I don't want to be a rabbit sitting quietly and looking in the eyes of a snake waiting to be snapped just like the guys in 1937."
