Anti-Terrorism Pledge

UNITED NATIONS -- The five permanent members of the UN Security Council, at the request of Russia, called Thursday for greater international cooperation in stopping violence and capturing terrorists.

The cooperation would aim at preventing and suppressing terrorist acts, foreign ministers of the five powers said.

The five pledged to deny safe haven or asylum to those "who plan, finance or commit terrorist acts."
