Visa Break for WTO

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan -- Kyrgyzstan will eliminate visa controls for citizens of World Trade Organization member states next Jan. 1, a presidential decree said Wednesday.

The decree, aimed at drawing potential investors and tourists to the Central Asian nation, also eases travel restrictions on Kyrgyz citizens.

"Let us create a visa-free policy for citizens of Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, the United States, Japan ... our main donors," President Askar Akayev told state television.
