Sister to Join Raisa

MOSCOW -- Raisa Gorbachev's younger sister will travel to Germany to be tested as a possible bone marrow donor for Mrs. Gorbachev, the leukemia-stricken wife of former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, officials said Friday.

The Gorbachev Fund, run by Mikhail Gorbachev, said Mrs. Gorbachev's sister Lyudmila Titarenko was expected to arrive Friday in Moscow from her home town of Ufa and would travel to Germany on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin telephoned Gorbachev in Germany to wish his wife a speedy recovery.
