Privatization Delayed

MOSCOW -- Privatization programs may be delayed by the recent change of government, Interfax reported Friday.

Before he was dismissed Monday, then Prime Minister Sergei Stepashin was about to approve the terms for sale of a 9 percent stake in LUKoil, Interfax said.

Now approval will be delayed until after a new Cabinet is formed. Stock sales of 25 percent plus one share of Rosneft and 49 percent of Tyumen Oil Co. stock were to be announced this month, the agency said.
