Media Accounts Freed

MOSCOW -- The Moscow arbitration court has rescinded an order under which about $60 million in the accounts of Media-MOST and NTV-Plus were to be frozen, Interfax reported Tuesday.

On July 16, NTV-Plus and Media-MOST sent the Vneshekonombank a package of bonds worth $60 million with an accompanying letter explaining that this was their way of paying the loan the bank extended in June 1998. The bank rejected this form of payment and applied for the freeze, Interfax said.

Vneshekonombank officials were not available for comment Tuesday.
