Music Gems at Ostankino


Wednesday's concert at the Ostankino Estate, dubbed "Golden Miniatures," features priceless gems from the 18th to 20th centuries. Contratenor Oleg Usov and pianist Yelena Romashkan will perform vocal and instrumental works of Caccini, Handel, Purcell, Bach, Gluck and Pergolesi. The concert, part of the Sheremetev Seasons in Ostankino series, begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Egyptian Pavilion of the Ostankino Estate, 5 Ostankinskaya Ulitsa. Tel. 283-4645, 286-6288. On-Field Clash


Head to Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday for the Russian premier league clash between Spartak Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg. The league leader is the favorite but the current Russian Cup holder will be relishing the chance to beat the Muscovites. With Torpedo Moscow and Krylya Sovietov Samara playing afterward, it's two games for the price of one. The kickoff is at 5 p.m. at Luzhniki Stadium, 24 Luzhnetskaya Naberezhnaya. Tel. 201-0376. Tatar Treasures


The Historical Museum's new exhibit, "Treasures of Tatarstan Museums," is a fascinating collection of Tatar relics from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Tribal weapons, domestic items and ceremonial clothing are among the many objects highlighted. The show is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Historical Museum, 1 Red Square. Tel. 292-3731.
