Ukraine Inflation Low

KIEV -- Ukraine posted inflation of just 0.1 percent in June, a record low so far in 1999, the government said Tuesday.

June's inflation figure also was the lowest since last September, when Ukraine devalued the national hryvna currency after it was hit by the financial crisis in neighboring Russia.

Inflation was 1.5 percent in January and 1 percent in February and March. It rose to 2.3 percent in April and then to 2.4 percent in May.
