WHAT IS TO BE DONE?

Mozart Mosey

Cool off to a tempting program Tuesday as pianist Basinia Shulman plays Mozart in the Prechistenka Concert Hall. Together with the Cantilena String Ensemble, conducted by Andrei Istomin, Shulman will be giving debut performances of Mozart's rarer concertos (Nos. 12 and 14) in the "authentic" style she has made her own. Mozart's Fantasy for String Orchestra will also be performed. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at 23 Ulitsa Prechisten ka. Tel: 213-2719. Metro: Kropotkinskaya.

Adults Only

The Moscow Fine Art gallery unveiled an intriguing, mildly erotic variation on a well-worn theme last week with its latest exhibit, "Beauty, the Beast and the Poet." It combines the work of three artists in the fields of collage, costumes and erotic paraphernalia. Vladimir Voronov reads the poetry of Jean Genet in the background. Look out especially for the unusual work of Eduard Gorokhovsky. The gallery is located at 3 Bolshaya Sadovaya, Korpus 10. Tel. 251-7649. Metro: Mayakovskaya. Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon. to Fri. and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Sweet 'n' Sour

Tuesday night is sour cream night at Propaganda as honey-voiced Smetana gets down to some jazz step with DJ Zap and DJ D:Red in a jungle-type mixture smooth enough to sweeten anyone's palate. Smetana sings 10 p.m. to midnight at 7 Bolshoy Zlatoustinsky Pereulok. Tel. 924-5732. Metro: Kitai-Gorod. No cover.
