The Richest of Royals

LONDON -- Tiny Liechtenstein, one of Europe's smallest countries, has the continent's richest royal family with a fortune of more than 5 billion euros ($5.18 billion), a report said.

Taken together, Europe's top 10 royal families own investments, art and property that comes to nearly 25 billion euros, said a survey published by Euro-Business magazine.

"The 25 billion euros fortune split between the families does not include state-owned assets over which they have control, which are worth at least another 50 billion euros," EuroBusiness said. "When those assets are included, even the Arabian princes are eclipsed."

In second place behind the 5.05 billion euros fortune of the Liechtensteins of Liechtenstein came the Luxembourgs of Luxembourg, with 4.66 billion euros to rub together.

In third place were Britain's Windsors, with an estimated 4.15 billion euros among them, just ahead of the fourth-placed Orange-Nassaus of The Netherlands with 4.05 billion euros.
