Darwin Delights

"Disappearing World," a rare and extinct animals exhibit now running at the Darwin Museum, is sure to fascinate children with models and skeletons of modern animals, as well as photographs, paintings, and sculptures of those long extinct. The exhibit runs until September 5 and is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. The museum is located at 57 Ulitsa Vavilova. Tel. 135-3382. Admission is 10 rubles (40 cents) for adults, and 5 rubles for students and schoolchildren. Children under 6 enter for free. Nearest metro: Akademicheskaya.

Virtual Adventure

If your kids are fond of video games, take them to the "Dinamit" game center, and behind the controls of a video monitor they can become Formula One race car drivers, destroy menacing space monsters, or gallop away on a horse. The center is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the third floor of the Okhotny Ryad Trading Center at Manezh Square. Tokens for the games cost 15 rubles (60 cents). Tel. 264-6326. We're Not in Kansas

Follow the adventures of Dorothy and her dog Toto on their tornado-induced trip to see "Volshebnik Izumrudnogo Goroda," or "The Wizard of the Emerald City." The musical, based on the tale, "The Wizard of Oz," will be performed at Natalya Sats Children's Musical Theater Wednesday, June 23. The show begins at 3 p.m. at 5 Prospekt Vernadskogo.
