St. Pete Pays Coupon

ST. PETERSBURG -- St. Petersburg said Tuesday that it had transferred funds to pay a coupon worth $14.167 million on a Eurobond that matures in 2002.

The city's finance committee said the funds for the semiannual coupon had been transferred in full. The payment is due Friday. The original bond issue, made in 1996, was $300 million but there is only $296.89 million in circulation as the city bought back some of its own paper in 1997.
