Dhaka to Buy MiGs

DHAKA, Bangladesh -- Bangladesh will buy eight MiG-29 combat aircraft for $115 million from Russia, the official BSS news agency reported.

Air force chief Air Vice-Marshal Jamaluddin Ahmed and Vladimir Vypryazhkin, leader of a visiting Russian delegation, signed the contract Monday, the agency quoted the defense forces public relations office as saying.

The total cost of the MiG-29s, including tools and spares, was $115 million, BSS reported late Monday. It did not say when the planes would be delivered nor gave any other details.
