Bordyuzha Questioned

MOSCOW -- Military prosecutors have questioned former presidential chief of staff Nikolai Bordyuzha on his reported involvement in the alleged blackmailing of Russia's suspended Prosecutor General Yury Skuratov, officials said Thursday.

A spokesman for the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office said his colleagues interrogated Bordyuzha on Tuesday "in connection with Skuratov's case," but refused to release any details.

The Russian press has repeatedly speculated that Bordyuzha was involved in blackmailing Skuratov to quit with a videotape of a man resembling the prosecutor general in bed with two prostitutes. The tape was later shown on national television and then Bordyuzha was fired as head of the presidential administration.
