Astronauts Like Station

SPACE CENTER, Houston -- Despite some repairs, the new International Space Station is as pristine as a car just off the assembly line. Take it from its latest group of astronauts.

"It has a new-car feel," said Tamara Jernigan, one of seven astronauts visiting the outpost to deliver supplies. "There's a little light humming in the background from the fans and equipment that are running, but it is truly a delightful working environment."

It's also roomy: Canadian astronaut Julie Payette said she can float through the American-made Unity module, stretching 4.5 meters in diameter, without touching the sides.
