Hallucinogenic Adventure

On Tuesday the Cinema Center is showing "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," Terry Gilliam's 1998 big-screen version of Hunter S. Thompson's seminal psychedelic classic about his road trip across western America as he and his Samoan lawyer, fueled by massive amount of drugs, searched desperately for the undefinable thing known as the "American dream." Starring Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro, the film shows in English with Russian subtitles at 9:15 p.m. in the Small Hall of the center located at 15 Druzhinnikovskaya Ulitsa. Julie on Stage

"Miss Julie," Swedish playwright August Strindberg's naturalistic play about the wars between the sexes and the classes, is performed at Vakhtangov Theater on Tuesday. Featuring the strong acting trio of Yulia Rutberg, Vladimir Smirnov and Maria Aronova, the 1888 play begins at 7 p.m. at 26 Ulitsa Arbat. Tickets are 3 to 50 rubles (12 cents to $2.10) Tel. 241-0728. Celtic Jigs
