Pipeline Reopens

BAKU, Azerbaijan -- A Russian pipeline carrying Azeri crude from Baku to Novorossiisk for a consortium led by BP-Amoco is operating again after a three-day stoppage, an official at Azerbaijan State Oil Co. said Thursday.

"The break was connected with technical problems on the Chechen part of the pipeline," an official at the pipeline department said. He said the pipeline carried 115,000 barrels of oil per day.

The official said Azerbajian International Operating Co. pumped 70,000 barrels per day through Georgia to the Black Sea port of Supsa.
