Love on the Line


On Thursday and during the weekend, Dome Cinema is showing "Dangerous Beauty." Set in 16th century Italy, it tells the story of Veronica Franco who loves Marco Venier. His parents oppose their marriage. Veronica's mother advises her to become a courtesan. Starring Catherine McCormack and Jacqueline Bisset, the film shows in English with Russian translation through headphones Thursday and Friday at 9 p.m. and Saturday through Monday at 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tickets cost 150 rubles ($6.15) Tel. 931-9873. Lettice Begin


"The Love Potion," or "Lyubovny Napitok," Tatyana Akhramkova's adaptation of Peter Shaffer's comedy "Lettice and Lovage" about a woman who refuses to accept mediocrity and will lie to make reality sound better, is on at the Mayakovsky Theater on Friday and Sunday. Starring Natalya Gundareva and Yevgenia Simonova, the play begins at 7 p.m. at 19 Bolshaya Nikitskaya. Tickets cost 10 rubles to 100 rubles (40 cents to $4). Tel. 290-4232. Blues Session


Head to Vermel club to hear the Moscow rhythm-and-blues band "Blues Cousins." This trio, led by Levan Lomidze, will perform their own songs from the album "Midnight Blues," and covers.
