St. Pete Ring Road

ST. PETERSBURG -- The city administration is attempting to revive a St. Petersburg Ring Road project by hiring an international consortium of advisers to help with financial planning.

City Hall officials are expected to sign next week a deal with KPMG and Global Management & Consulting Service to assist with finding the funding to build a massive highway that will circle the city, according to Sergei Lebedev, adviser to First Vice Governor Ilya Klebanov, who heads the project.

The road, 60 percent of which is to run across the Leningrad region, is estimated to cost more than $1 billion.
