SEOUL, South Korea -- President Kim Dae-jung said Monday his country would welcome any role Russia can play in promoting peace between South and North Korea.
Kim sought Moscow's cooperation for his "sunshine policy" of greater engagement with North Korea when he met a State Duma delegation, aides said.
The eight-member delegation, led by Gennady Seleznyov, speaker of the lower house of parliament, arrived Sunday for a four-day visit.
Made up of members from all political parties in parliament, the delegation also planned to meet industrialists as well as government and parliamentary leaders to discuss trade and investment.
