Iraq, Russia Oil Talks

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Iraq's oil minister is in Moscow to press Russian oil companies to honor commitments they made with the Iraqi government, the official Iraqi News Agency reported.

The visit, starting Saturday, by Lieutenant General Amer Mohammed Rashid and a delegation of senior Iraqi oil officials, comes at the invitation of Russian Fuel and Energy Minister Sergei Generalov. The visit is expected to last several days, INA said.

Russia was the first foreign country to sign a deal to develop Iraqi oil fields despite UN trade sanctions which ban foreign investments in the country.
