Copter Hit Power Lines

MOSCOW -- A helicopter crash that killed 18 Russian soldiers occurred after the aircraft ran into power lines over the Central Asian nation of Tajikistan, officials said Thursday.

The Mi-8 helicopter crashed Friday in the Pyandzh River, which forms the border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan. It was ferrying Russian border troops, and all 18 people aboard were killed.
