3 Drink Anti-Freeze

MOSCOW -- One soldier died and two were seriously ill after guards at a nuclear facility drank anti-freeze used to cool car engines, Itar-Tass reported Tuesday.

The three men were assigned to a unit guarding unspecified nuclear facilities at a chemical factory at Ozersk in the Ural Mountains, the report said. The soldiers were not on duty at the time, Itar-Tass said, without indicating when the incident happened.

The men's unit was in the news recently after a sergeant shot and killed several soldiers before deserting.
