2000 Bug Risk at 20%

MOSCOW -- Russia's computers run a 15 percent to 20 percent risk of going haywire because of the so-called "millennium bug,'' a top government official said Wednesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bulgak told a Cabinet session that it could take three years to fix all the potential year 2000-related problems in Russia's computers, including the 16,000 systems considered "critical,'' Itar-Tass reported.
