De Niro Action


On Tuesday, the Cinema Center is showing "Ronin" (1998), John Frankenheimer's smart action film about a group of misfit mercenaries who work together to steal a mysterious package. Starring Robert De Niro and Jean Reno, the film shows in English with Russian subtitles at 9 p.m. in the Big Hall at 5 Druzhinnikovskaya Ulitsa. Backstage Farces


"Farewell and Applause," known as "Proshchaite i Rukopleshchite" in Russian, is Alexei Bogdanovich's play about the backstage loves, intrigues and high jinks taking place at Carlo Goldoni's theater in 18th-century Italy. It is being performed Tuesday at the Tabakov Theater at 1A Ulitsa Chaplygina. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets cost from 30 rubles to 200 rubles ($1.30 to $8.65). Tel. 926-9685. Antique Coin Collection


Head to the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts to see a new exhibition from the museum's collection of antique coins from the 6th century B.C. to the 4th century. The exhibit runs until Oct. 3 and can be seen daily, except Monday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 12 Ulitsa Volkhonka. Admission is 8 to 20 rubles (35 to 87 cents). Tel. 203-9578.
