Norwegian Aid Arrives

MOSCOW -- About 10,000 parcels of humanitarian aid from Norway have arrived in the far northern city of Arkhangelsk, where they will be distributed to those in need, Itar-Tass reported Tuesday.

The 9.6-kilogram parcels, containing flour, sugar, butter, milk and potato powder, will be given to needy children, the elderly, homeless and victims of fires or other disasters, said Gleb Tyurin, the head of the Norwegian Red Cross mission in Arkhangelsk, Itar-Tass reported.
