Uzbeks Offer Reward

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan -- The Uzbek government offered a $250,000 reward Wednesday for information leading to the arrest of five people suspected of car bombings last week that killed at least 13 people.

Police have arrested 30 suspects, but those believed directly responsible were still at large, Uzbek President Islam Karimov said Tuesday.

At least 13 people were killed and more than 100 injured in the Feb. 16 bombings that targeted several government buildings in the capital.

Karimov said the attack was carried out by Islamic extremists and was aimed at him.
