Inkom to Sue Debtors

MOSCOW -- Russia's Inkombank, a former top bank now facing bankruptcy proceedings, said Monday that it would take court action against 20 large debtors to recoup more than $230 million in loans.

The bank, once the third-largest retail bank, also said in a statement that some actions had been launched and that it would take action to get debtors declared bankrupt if there was no other way to recoup the loans. It said bankruptcy steps would only be taken if they did not have serious economic or social consequences. The bank said a Moscow arbitration court had already satisfied a claim worth $4 million against state arms exporter Rosvooruzheniye.
