War games

The old planetarium, whose labyrinthine cellars were the venue for a debauched expat party a year and a half ago, is now the site for 24-hour paintball. Just book a time, night or day, and you can make as much mess as you want by shooting gas-powered paint pellets at your friends and the insides of the once proud and now neglected building. The organizers compare paintball to the computer game Doom, although you're unlikely to go home with bruises on your backside after a night with your keyboard and joystick.

Paintball costs $32 a game (for as many people as you want) on weekdays, $45 Saturdays and Sundays. The price includes 100 pellets, and after that pellets cost $7 for 100 or $130 for 2,500. You have an unlimited amount of time to kill each other.

Paintland. 10 Kalashny Pereulok, 6th entrance. Tickets for the planetarium can be bought from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tel. 918-4580, 291-2259, 202-8750. Metro: Arbatskaya. Ask the Paintland employees for directions to the planetarium.
