Boy Freed in Chechnya

MOSCOW -- Russian police freed a 10-year-old boy who was abducted last summer and taken to Chechnya.

The Interior Ministry said the boy, Georgy Ashkalov, was freed without paying ransom.The boy and his father, a businessman, were abducted from their home in the Stavropol region Aug. 5. The father was released near Grozny on condition that he pay $200,000 for his son's release.
