Club Payment Made

MOSCOW -- Russia has paid $170 million to the Paris Club of country creditors, to which it owes about $42 billion, Prime-Tass quoted a Finance Ministry source as saying Tuesday. The source did not say when the payment was made. Finance Ministry officials were not available for comment.

Finance Minister Mikhail Kasyanov said last month Russia would make a $170 million payment to the Paris Club by Nov. 30. Russia earlier this year rescheduled most of the $8.1 billion debt owed to the club this year and next.
