Bond Payout Set Aside

MOSCOW -- The Finance Ministry has earmarked $73.4 million for the next half-year coupon payment on five-year Eurobonds on Friday, Interfax reported Wednesday.

Vneshekonombank, Russia's agent for the securities, will remit this amount to another agent, the London-based Citibank, before the deadline, Interfax quoted a ministry source as saying.

A total of $1.25 billion worth of the bonds was sold in June 1998.

The interest on their coupons is 11.75 percent a year.
