Nikitin Case Up Again

ST. PETERSBURG -- For the second time in 13 months, the case against environmentalist and accused spy Alexander Nikitin will be heard in St. Petersburg City Court on Tuesday.

This time, however, Nikitin and his prosecutors are anticipating a final decision on the case.

Speaking Monday at a news conference at the National Press Institute, Nikitin said he hopes "that a decision is reached, and that this decision is final."

Alexander Kolb, the latest in a string of Federal Security Service investigators to work on the case, also said he hoped that the court will come up with a verdict.

"It is time to dot all the i's," Kolb said in a telephone interview Monday.
