Gold Edges Higher

LONDON -- Gold edged higher in early European precious metals business ahead of Wednesday's over-the-counter options expiry while U.S. traders prepared for a four-day Thanksgiving holiday, dealers said.

With U.S. markets closing early Wednesday and only reopening Monday, dealers said gold was likely to move toward the $300 a troy ounce level this week ahead of next week's Bank of England gold auction.

Tuesday's New York close was $297.70/$298.70.
