Bali Staff Suspended

JAKARTA, Indonesia -- The Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency said Thursday it had agreed a proposal from Bank Bali's management team to suspend 45 of the bank's employees for lack of co-operation and to dismiss three others.

"This decision was reached after we received a proposal, and upon consideration of the report submitted by the management team of Bank Bali, where the 45 employees have acted unethically, including acting and behaving uncooperatively with the management team," IBRA chairman Glenn Yusuf said in a statement.

The government's IBRA took over ownership of Bank Bali earlier this year, and in a deal with Standard Chartered PLC gave the British-based bank management control. Standard Chartered has also said it plans to take a significant stake in the bank.
