Lebanese Expelled

MOSCOW -- Russian security services on Friday expelled a Lebanese citizen accused of advertising the activities of Hezbollah Islamic guerrillas, a news report said.

Security officials in the central Russian region of Tatarstan said Kenaan Ali Ahmad, a 32-year-old student at the Medical University in Kazan, had publicized the activities of Hezbollah, an Islamic extremist group.

The Iranian-backed Hezbollah, or the Party of God, is leading a guerrilla war to oust Israeli troops from Lebanon.

Kenaan was also convicted last month of forging documents. Under the expulsion decision he is banned from entering Russia for five years.
