Borodin: No IMF Bribe

MOSCOW -- Kremlin property manager Pavel Borodin told Interfax that Russian media reports that $200,000 was transferred "from secret Kremlin bank accounts to IMF Managing Director Michel Camdessus" were false.

"I know what blackguards stand behind this scandalous [false report]," Interfax quoted Borodin as saying.

Reached for comment, neither the Kremlin press service nor Interfax could say what press reports Borodin was talking about. Borodin could not be reached for comment.

Camdessus said Monday the International Monetary Fund would provide Russia with its second $640 million tranche from a $4.5 billion loan agreed upon in July within a matter of days or weeks, Reuters reported.
