Automaker May Shift

BERLIN -- DaimlerChrysler is considering whether to relocate its headquarters from Germany to the United States, a magazine reported Tuesday.

Shares in the automaker climbed on the Frankfurt stock exchange Tuesday on news of the report in Stern weekly.

A DaimlerChrysler spokesman called the report "speculation.''

The company's share price has weakened since Daimler-Benz's merger with Chrysler Corp. last year, the article said.

It said U.S. investors are less interested in DaimlerChrysler shares because - unlike the former Chrysler shares - they are not included in the major U.S. stock indexes.
